The University of the First Age (UFA) aims to transform the lives of young people.
Raising aspirations and achievements by improving confidence and self belief through exciting and memorable educational experiences is at the heart of what they do.
Their philosophy is integral to life at Whaley Bridge Primary School.
Our UFA Super Learner Day takes place every January and our UFA fellow (Miss Chapman) recruits a team of peer tutors to run the day.

The Power of Positive Thinking - Super Learner Day 2010
Our day started off with an assembly led by the peer tutors. Through drama, they told us the story of Cliff Young and they also taught us this year's dance. We heard a selection of inspiring quotes and positive sayings to set the tone for the day.
Throughout the day, the peer tutors helped us with lots of exciting and motivational activities. For instance, we learnt about the importance of smiling and how important it is to challenge negative thoughts. We thoroughly enjoyed praising one another and thinking about our many personal strengths.
We all left school feeling incredibly happy, positive and motivated and will use this in our learning, as well as in our everyday lives.
The certificates in the celebration assembly were the icing on the cake and we can't wait until next year!
